London-based BrickVest Closes £2M Angel Round

Proptech company BrickVest has secured £2 million from angel investors including former Europe managing director of Colony Capital Jean-Romain Lhomme.

The London-based company had already raised £800,000 in seed funding in 2015 and a £1 million venture round in April last year, plus an undisclosed amount of venture capital.

Founded in 2014, BrickVest is a Europe-wide platform that allows users to crowd-invest in real estate, and managing their portfolio. The company founding team have past experience in both investment and technology— coming from such companies as Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Rocket Internet.

BrickVest CEO Emmanuel Lumineau said in a statement: “We are pleased to have attracted institutional sponsors and trust of thousands of investors and family offices that are seeing BrickVest as a solution platform.”

He explained the company would use the fresh round of funding to develop its products and kick-start the launch of ““dedicated products for larger ticket investors coupled with automated liquidity platform and risk rating analytics”.

Lead investor Jean-Romain Lhomme also commented on the deal, following which he has joined BrickVest’s board.

“I invested into BrickVest because I believe the company is about to disrupt the model of how to invest in real estate around the globe from small private investors to large institutions,” he said.
