London-based data analytics firm Decision Tech Buys Comparemymobile

Decision Tech, a London-based firm providing performance and data analytics, has bought electronics recycling comparison site comparemymobile.com for an undisclosed sum.

The purchase will bolster Decision Tech’s portfolio— which includes broadbandchoices.co.uk and recently-bought sellmymobile.com. Founded in 2005 and backed by stage VC firm Business Growth Fund, the company claims to be the most popular price comparison service for handsets and gadgets in the UK.

Bournemouth-based comparemymobile—where  customers can currently check how much they can sell their old handsets for—is slated to become Decision Tech’s main comparison site for phones, sim-only tariffs and other mobile-related services and accessories.

“”Comparemymobile.com will be a platform for our mobile product family. We will help consumers throughout the life cycle of owning a smart phone,”Decision Tech CEO Michael Philips explained in a statement.

“This acquisition also enriches our B2B data products, further strengthening our position as a performance marketing and data business in a time when our clients demand cost effective customer acquisition and real time intelligence to optimise decision making.” he concluded.

Business Growth Fund investor and Decision Tech board member Mark Nunny also commented on the deal. “Having completed two acquisitions within the space of three months, Decision Tech continues to demonstrate great momentum in executing its strategy.”

“We are backing a team that is both driven and disciplined in its approach to identifying acquisition opportunities, and we are very much looking forward seeing the business scale even further over the next 12 months,” he added.
